Lego Star Wars The Video Game combines three of the things I love the most:
- Legos(r)
- Star Wars(tm)
- Platforming video games
In a word: perfection.

- Thursday: Helped people evacuate the Commune; Amber came over and made tea for Daniel and I; loaded the loft into Elijah’s trailer; got dinner while Amber and Daniel got goodies; ate and watched Firefly and drank wine and ate bread and cheese and berries; went to bed contented.
- Friday: Got up early and went to Sean’s graduation; left early and had sandwiches with he and his family; went back to campus and went to Amber & Blythe’s graduation; saw Barbara Bush awarded an honorary degree and heard her deliver the Commencement address; rounded up folks and went to dinner to celebrate Amber / Ro Sung’s graduations; went to Yesterday’s to play pool with Daniel, Jonathan, Annie, Liz, and Ro Sung; went to Annie’s to watch UHF and finish off our potables; came back to the Commune; packed with Daniel until six or so; went to bed tired.
- Saturday: Got up late by accident; had breakfast with Stephen Weir; packed; went and saw Holly’s new house and tried to help her start her car; dropped her off; packed; packed; packed into the van when Mom and Dad arrived; got dinner at Chipotle; went to bed at home.
- Sunday: Got up; went to church; lunch at the Empress Café with family and family friends; flew up to Seattle; dinner with Scott, an old Microsoft friend; went to bed feeling unprepared.
- Monday: Got up early; steamed and ironed and showered and shaved; breakfast; interviews at Microsoft starting at 9:30 and finishing at 5:15; rode into Seattle; got Pagliacci pizza and went to a Sonics game; grabbed a Paulaner, went to bed early.
- Tuesday: Got up later than I should have (7:30); packed; broke fast; drove to Sea-Tac; flew home; had dinner; got hiring offers from Assistance Platform and Jolt groups; went to bed and got a good night’s rest.
- Wednesday: Got up but couldn’t go anywhere because Joel was still asleep; went shopping with him for most of the morning and afternoon; came home and ate lunch at 3:00; picked Sarah-Jean up from school; came home and had dinner and wrapped presents until the wee hours of the morning; attempted to watch recorded episodes of Stargate, discovered that they were corrupted, uttered maledictions at technology in general and my computer in specific; went to bed far too late.
- Today: Got up; dallied; went shopping with Mom; finished wrapping presents; played DK’s Jungle Beat with Joel; had dinner; cut Joel’s hair; watched part of Charlie Brown Christmas special, criticized poor animation, cuts between scenes, character development; thought about going to bed early, wrote monolithic post instead; let the dog in.

“In the end, when all else have departed, Caleb will leave, Last as he was First; and then Night will come.”

A comment in the header of one of the provided files for one of my compiler design projects:
/* A simple final code generator to translate Tac to MIPS.
* It uses simplistic algorithms, in particular, its register
* handling and spilling strategy is inefficient to the point
* of begin mocked by elementary school children.
*/
That must be some elementary school!

Oh man, I’m never eating food again. I just got back from a steakhouse adventure with Sean, Joel, and Dan, followed up by a trip to Shakes, and I’m so full that I can’t see straight. Or maybe that’s the hour and a half of sleep talking. Either way, too much food, not enough sleep. Oy.

Well, in ten hours it’ll all be over. In the mean-time, however, there’s a compiler design final at 10:30, my human-centered systems presentation at 1:00, and grading final exams for graphics until they’re finished.
A favorite quote, paraphrased just a bit for the current situation:
