I walked Sabra to Organic Chemistry today, and on my way back I got fascinated by watching a squirrel… I guess I should add that I didn’t get very far… I followed a larger gray male around the chemistry building and watched him eat 5 nuts, chew on 2 others and discard them and do the same thing to an empty Butterfinger wrapper. Followed him around for a bit longer and watched him drink from the Chemistry Fountains a few times, scare off a smaller, collared gray female, and I was even able to get him to eat a few nuts that I tossed his way. Then he climbed around in the trees between Francis Hall and the Library for a while, before he jumped onto the ledge that runs around the Library… He met up with a girly squirrel there and I thought that they were either gonna fight or get it on, but I guess she wasn’t in the mood, because they just sat there and chattered for a while before he ran off into a tree and she started chattering at me… I stared her down though, because after a little while she came down and I followed her around towards the Architecture Building and she ate a few nuts that I tossed her way also… They seem to like the acorns that still have the little hats on them more than the bald ones. She scared off another gray female and a little bird who got too close… On my way back to the Chemistry building to meet Sabra, I saw another young female red who didn’t like me very much. Oh, and apparently the first gray male likes pink pebbles, because he carried around one that I tossed near him for a little while. Cute!
