Mr. Kye Kastrop (PHYS)
H. Physics I, Physics II AP, Duncanville High School; Fall 1999 - Spring 2001
- “Any diode will emit light… once…”
- “This isn’t girl-scout camp”
- “So we take this sophomore and throw him off the top of a building of height 100 meters, and…”
- “Vectors are independent”
- “…And I kept tellin’ him… ‘You’re taking out a hundred times more than what you put in’, but he just wouldn’t believe me… He kept talking about FDR and all that nonsense”
- “Don’t you guys have to draw those silly unit circle thingies with crayolas and sparklers?”
- “I won’t mention Justin’s name”
- “Jane does work on Tarzan, and…”
- “No matter if it’s a tennis ball or a battleship, if you throw it at the same velocity it will go the same distance…”
- “So if I drop this tennis ball on Will’s head like so…”
- “So I start throwin’ punches at Hank here… Whoa… Sorry there Hank, but you’ve gotta roll with the punches…”
- “So if I throw my tinsnips at you…”
- “So what are we talkin’ about here? 2300 dollars? Cans of peaches?”
- “We’ve got this old 33 applying a rotary force and got some old Iron Butterfly playing…”
- Justin: “It’s cause, it’s cause, like… gravity’s pulling on the car harder at the bottom of the hill… or something”
Kastrop: “Okay… that’s true… but the ratio of the height of the hill over the radius of the planet Earth is so small that it’s roughly equivalent to your grade… or something” - “I just wanna make sure we’re both on the same page… that would be the right page…”
- “I know they’re heavy, but this is also a P.E. credit…”
- “So when we have motion in two directions, it’s just double your pleasure…”
- “Look around at the things in here that aren’t moving. They all don’t move.”
- “So if I just tell you all to get up and run as fast as you can into that wall over there…”
